Josh Edwards is our Artistic Director. Josh has a Bachelor of Music degree from Carson-Newman College in Tennessee and a master’s degree from Anderson University. He presently serves as Worship and Administrative Pastor at Hillview Baptist Church in Graniteville. While he has had extensive choral directing experience at several churches, he has also applied his piano accompanying skills at the Fort Gordon Dinner Theater for the Augusta Players and other local musical productions. “It is an honor and a privilege to be the next Artistic Director of the Aiken Singers. My desire is to build upon the solid foundation of singing already put in place. I’m looking forward to many wonderful seasons ahead.“
Pianist David Brown and his wife Deborah have called Aiken, SC their home for the past 15 years. Equally comfortable in the classical, jazz, and cabaret fields, David brings over four decades of performing and teaching experience to the area. When he is not teaching piano at Aiken’s Carolina Academy of Music, or for the AU Conservatory Program, he’s also the accompanist for Aiken Choral Society, Paladin Productions, and the Aiken Unitarian Universalist Church. He can also be found playing jazz with “4 Cats in the Doghouse” at The Willcox.
David received his Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the Crane School of Music (SUNY-Potsdam), and master’s in music and music education from Teachers College Columbia University. He has served as staff accompanist at Montclair State University (NJ) and has also been a faculty member at Bergen Community College (NJ), Westchester Community College (NY), among others. David has performed extensively as a recital accompanist throughout the Hudson Valley and Catskill regions of New York State and has performed with many Broadway stage performers as a freelance piano accompanist in New York City.
